About Family Support Scotland
Our Mission and Values
Our Mission
At Family Support Scotland, our mission is simple: to ensure that every child, young person, and parent feels supported and never alone.
Families often face complex systems, overwhelming paperwork, stressful meetings, and moments where they feel lost, unheard, or silenced. We exist to change that.
We provide compassionate emotional support, clear and accessible information, help understanding rights and processes, support with letters and communication, guidance before and after meetings, and a listening ear when things feel too much.
Our aim is to bring clarity, confidence, and comfort to families across Scotland—especially during their most difficult moments.
Our Vision
We believe in a Scotland where families feel safe and respected, children’s voices are genuinely heard, and parents feel confident speaking up without fear of judgment.
We envision support that is easy to access, free for everyone, and rooted in dignity and understanding. A Scotland where asking for help is normal, where systems feel less intimidating, and where joy, calm, and connection have space to grow within every home.
Above all, we want families to know: we are here to listen, and we are here to help.
Our Values
These values guide everything we do.
Respect
Every family deserves kindness, dignity, and understanding. We value every story, every struggle, and every voice.
Compassion
We listen gently and without judgment. Families come to us during vulnerable times, and we meet them with humanity and care.
Safety
The wellbeing of children and families always comes first. We operate with strong safeguarding practices to protect everyone who uses our service.
Clarity
Systems can be confusing and intimidating. We explain processes in clear, plain language so families feel informed and empowered, not overwhelmed.
Empowerment
We do not take over. We stand beside families, helping them build confidence and advocate for themselves.
Honesty and Transparency
We are open, accountable, and clear in our decisions, funding, and support. Trust matters.
Community
Support should feel human. We are building a warm, welcoming community where families can find understanding, connection, and hope.
